Welcome to the Park Slope Child Care Collective!

The Collective is a joyful place for children to grow and learn. For over 50 years we have upheld the best traditions of early childhood education from John Dewey to the Bank Street College model: play-based learning, an emphasis on the development of the whole child (social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth), and child-centered curricula in which the children’s varied backgrounds and interests are nurtured and respected. Our classrooms hum with the busy explorations of children as they paint, build, pretend, discuss, sing, problem-solve, converse, create, and figure out the world around them. Our teachers are skilled, loving, and experienced. Many have been at the Collective for 15-20 years. And as a parent cooperative, our families are integrally involved in our special community, helping with everything from shopping for daily snacks to planning such all-school events as our annual Fall Festival and International Food Day. We invite you to read through our website and learn more about the Collective.

Sincerely,
