Dear Families:
It may seem hard to believe but the end of school is fast approaching and we want to let you know what’s in store for our final day, August 2.
This year, graduation will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 2nd. We are asking for parents and friends of the Bears and Rainbow graduates to gather in the side yard at 10:45 AM so that the ceremony can start on time. Due to limited seating room in the side yard, we need to restrict our guests to friends and family of graduates only. Please note that if your graduating child doesn’t normally attend school on Fridays, you may drop him/her off at 9:30 AM. The Little Stars as a class will not be attending graduation, both because of space limitations and because we have found that it can be an overwhelming experience for them. However, if your graduating child has a sibling in Little Stars, you are welcome to pick up your Little Star early on Friday to attend with you.
After the ceremony, we will have a short reception with refreshments in the side yard. Graduating children will then leave with their families.
We are asking all families to pick up their children on the last day by 1:00 PM if possible. We know that the school calendar says 2:00 PM early dismissal, but it would help immensely if you can make it by 1:00 PM so that the teachers can get a jump on all the cleaning, packing, and storing that needs to be completed in each classroom with school’s end.
Please plan to take EVERYTHING home (art work, extra clothing, etc.) and please check the lost and found cubby. We will be cleaning out all cubbies completely on Friday afternoon.
And finally, we still need volunteers to help with set up, clean up and purchasing supplies for graduation, so please let me know if you can pitch in.
