Dear Little Stars Parents,
Welcome to the Park Slope Child Care Collective! And welcome back to those of you who are returning with a new Little Star. As the new education director, I am looking forward to working with you and your child(ren). The Collective is a very special place – my son spent two wonderful years in the Bears Room – and I am so happy to be returning in my new capacity, using my background in early childhood education to help serve this incredible community.
As we prepare for the opening days, I want you to be aware that over the years, the Collective has worked to develop a gentle transition process for Little Stars to ease into the Collective’s program. This phase-in process is based on years of teacher and family experience with separation and adjustment to the Little Stars classroom. I have attached an individualized schedule for your own child’s phase-in process. This schedule will allow your child to adjust to the Collective at a gradual pace in the company of a loved one.
Please note that ALL Little Stars come to school on Tuesday, September 4th, attending either from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM or 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Your schedule indicates which time your child will attend.
Again, I am looking forward to working with you through the coming year. Please feel free to email me if you have any immediate questions, though I will have limited internet access as of August 16 (heading to the woods of northern Minnesota for vacation).
