Dear PSCCC Parents,
The Collective’s Open House for the 2015-16 school year is just over a month away (Saturday, December 6th to be exact), and we are looking for your help getting the word out. In particular, we want to make sure that we reach out to a diverse group of families who live or work in Park Slope and surrounding neighborhoods, such as Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Fort Greene, Bed-Stuy, Ditmas and Prospect-Lefferts.
We have crafted an email that can be posted on parent listserves, blogs and FaceBook. We even have text for Tweeting, if you’re the Twitter type. There is also a lovely flier that can be posted or left in cafes, doctors’ offices, play group spaces, churches, etc…
Collective credit is available!
Please let us know if you can help by:
1. Posting fliers (contact Meki at meki208@gmail.com)
2. Emailing or posting notices on listserves and websites (contact Meredith at mkolodner@gmail.com)
3. If you don’t have time to email or flier, but you know good spots for outreach, please send them to Ktanya at kayandmike2009@gmail.com
Word of mouth is also one of the best ways to spread the word, so please tell any friends you think may be interested to come and check us out! Any additional ideas for increasing and enhancing the school’s diversity, please let any of us know.
Thanks so much,
Meki (Iskinder, Bears), Meredith (Katya, Bears), Ktanya (Kaiya, Bears) and Deborah (Maimouna, Bears)
for the Diversity Committee

How We Teach
*We support a child’s natural curiosity and joy of discovery by creating a nurturing learning environment where children feel comfortable to explore and make sense of the world around them.
*Our curriculum addresses the emotional, social, cognitive, and physical needs of the child.
*The low student-teacher ratio gives each child the opportunity to develop warm and trusting relationships with his or her teachers.
*Our experienced teachers are sensitive to the developmental issues of young children and to their needs within a group setting. They provide children the individual attention needed to make a secure and healthy separation from home and allow them to progress in accord with their own developmental pace, learning style, and temperament.
*Our goal is to help each child develop a sense of him or herself as a competent and confident person, someone whose feelings, capacities, and interests are validated, respected, and encouraged to grow.
