Park Slope Childcare Collective

Welcome to the Park Slope Child Care Collective!  As the new education director, I am looking forward to working with you and your child(ren).  The Collective is a very special place – my son spent two wonderful years in the Bears Room – and I am so happy to be returning in my new capacity, using my background in early childhood education to help serve this incredible community.

As we prepare for the opening days, I want you to be aware that over the years, the Collective has worked to develop a phase-in process for new Rainbows and Bears to ease into the Collective’s program.  This phase-in process is based on years of teacher and family experience with separation and adjustment to the  classroom. I have attached an individualized calendar for your child.  As you will see, we ask that a parent be present on the first day and available to return to the Collective on the second and third days if necessary.

Please note that your calendar also includes a Thursday, September 6th date for Orientation (at 6 PM).  This hour-long orientation is an opportunity for you to hear about the basic structure of the Bears/Rainbows day and answer any questions you may have.  We plan to have a more in-depth curriculum meeting later in the fall.
