3s and 4s Program

Rainbows & Bears: 2 classes of 14-15 children, 4 teachers in each room.
*For 3- and 4-year-olds, the youngest turning 3 by mid-October of the school year.

Engaging activities and close relationships are the hallmarks of our 3s/4s program. Children use their imagination and burgeoning understandings of the world around them to play and create together.

Team-play.
Friendships develop and deepen as children discover the joy of playing with one another - turning the dramatic play area into a restaurant, building a bridge and roadway out of blocks, or painting a wintertime group mural.

Mixed ages.
We love our mixed-age program. Younger children learn from the older ones. The older ones grow in self-confidence as they take on the roles of leaders and mentors for the younger children. They’ve got this! Friendships develop across all ages.

Out and about.
Like our 2s class, the 3s/4s head outdoors nearly every day: rain, snow, or shine. Prospect Park is our go-to at this age, where we aim to go at least 3-4 times a week. We encourage connections to nature, from closely observing the hidden worlds inside a fallen tree to looking for and learning about worm castings. Playgrounds and outings also provide variety for exploration.

Literacy and numeracy made fun.
Letter and number learning are playfully woven into our activities every day, from counting our classmates at circle time to forming letters out of Wikki Stix during free play.
